I almost agree with you. I have an idea, but it won't happen.

I can see where you're coming from and agree to an extent. I don't think it's constructive to "mute". "Muting" in multiple platforms does contribute to a lot of the tension and extremism we see now. But we don't all need to be constructive all the time. This place is supposed to be fun, and if someone is making it not fun on a regular basis, well, maybe it's ok to ignore them. Not they way I'd do it, but people are different. Calling people "snowflakes" because they disagree with you isn't particularly constructive either.

I think it'd be nice to have an auto-reset feature on the "mute" button for the reasons you shared. An annual day of forgiveness where we say "a year has passed...people change...let's see if we can try this again". It'll never happen though.
