He didn’t need to be that close to him in the inbound

He needed to maintain position between the SMU player and the basket so he couldn’t advance the ball so easily. That should’ve been a 70-foot shot, not a 50-foot shot.

A big man should have been at the 3pt line ready for that. Looked like they
Hokie Rebel 01/14/26 11:29 PM ET

sarg003 01/14/26 11:22 PM ET

ancient alien 2018 01/14/26 11:30 PM ET

VTMONEY94 01/14/26 11:30 PM ET
We coached to allow their best player to shoot a wide open half court shot?**
sarg003 01/14/26 11:30 PM ET
Wide open half court shot...
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:31 PM ET
Do you hear yourself? Wide open and for their best player at that**
cbhokie1 01/14/26 11:32 PM ET
This is what youre calling a "wide open" half court shot...**
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:36 PM ET
Considering the defender is behind him and it’s literally in rhythym
cbhokie1 01/14/26 11:40 PM ET
Even if it were a layup ot would be considered a contested layup
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:43 PM ET
Look at the picture you posted below, the defender is behind him the whole
cbhokie1 01/14/26 11:59 PM ET
So youre saying he should've cut him off, allowing Miller to draw a foul
GCHokie34 01/15/26 12:05 AM ET
I would say he was in rhythm with a clear look - why no double on him?**
AnotherTechW 01/14/26 11:37 PM ET
From where exactly?
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:39 PM ET
They guarded inbounds why not use that defender ? Don’t even let him get it
AnotherTechW 01/14/26 11:42 PM ET
They used Avdalas to discourage the pass down the court...
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:46 PM ET
Are we going to pretend Avdalas is fast enough to chase down Miller?
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:44 PM ET
I would think we do all we could
AnotherTechW 01/14/26 11:55 PM ET
Even tbe announcers said it...
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:57 PM ET
That is absolutely not true
cbhokie1 01/14/26 11:29 PM ET
Their best player caught the ball with his back to the basket w/ 2 sec left
GCHokie34 01/14/26 11:32 PM ET
It’s those damn MFT that have me shaking my head**
Glen Allen Hokie 01/14/26 11:37 PM ET

GC is never wrong. Didn’t you know that?**
JediHokie 01/14/26 11:37 PM ET
Haha yeah he coached so he’s the only one who knows what he’s talking about**
cbhokie1 01/14/26 11:41 PM ET

Hokie Rebel 01/14/26 11:31 PM ET
Agreed, and he knew exactly when to release it at buzzer. I would have had
