Rice was not a good fit with this roster
He wants to play/best skill is at the 1 but only played 8 games last year and couldn't take over for Pedulla spot/mins to begin the season. VT wanted to give him min at the 2 but it would mean Hunter plays the 3 which leaves VT small. Since our 4 and 5 are huge question marks that is not great.
He was our best talent but would really need to come off the bench to relive the 1 and 2 .. possible 3. VT was going to force him in spots to give him playing time. For a player of his skill, that's a hard pill to swallow.
if he was not injured last year and beat out pedulla he would still be in blacksburg in my clueless opinion
