Szefc on not using Renfrow
"I don't really put a lot of stock into the whole tournament thing, and all that talk. Honestly, we're just gonna roll out there with the guys that are most prepared to play. I'm not saying Brett's not — he's still recovering from his last start, and he'll be fine. It just wasn't his day to pitch, but it was a lot of other guys' day to pitch, and they did a really good job. A super job."
Not the most insightful answer, but the whole situation makes me feel like Szefc thought the team was a lock for a regional, even with a loss. Mark Berman asked him about that and said he felt good about it like he has been, but derailed a bit thinking about that RPI hit last week:
"Think our RPI is probably in the low 40s, which is — we lost [10 spots] last week. We lost one game to Clemson. That, to me, is ridiculous. I've never seen that before in my life. I don't know what that is. I could use a lot of adjectives, but I won't. It should be somewhere in the 30s, minimum."
