Massive for this team, to have him throwing strikes. Hats off to the staff for sticking with the relievers and letting them extend to 3 innings. I have been very critical of our bullpen management, and thought it was great this weekend. Hughes and Michel are 2 of only 4 or 5 proven high level hitters coming into the year. Not sure if they are both out for the year but could really use 1. Also would be great to get Clement and/or Sentlinger back. Only change i’d like to see is Cherry in the lineup and then play Davis at 2b. Gibson is much better defensively, but you have to play Grady at ss and Lutterman at 3b for D, and you aren’t scoring many runs with all 3 in the lineup. i would also platoon McCann and Lewis at DH…neither has proven they can hit a lick vs ACC arms (check the stats) so at least get the handed advantage.
