Tech is the master of their own destiny. It just depends on how bad Virginia Tech wants to compete, that is all. I was a freshman in 1974. I didn't think Tech had a snowballs chance in hell we would ever make it to a National Championship game. At the time I couldn't figure out what we were playing Alabama. Were we even in the same division as them, was what I was thinking. I saw a lousy program get to the top of the mountain when perceived as impossible, so I know we can be relevant in college football in the future. The only thing that would stop us is US! Damn straight I went to the game in 1999! A self defeating attitude never helps you achieve. Don't tell someone they can't and they just might! Go Hokies.

I really hope that VT ends up in the P2, but regardless I will continue to buy my season football tickets and hope we go 12-0!

My five years were spent traversing the drill field to Cowgill Hall. I love my football and basketball teams, but I relate to Virginia Tech, the college & environment the most. We are a Hokie Nation.

I understand Georgia following Brooks, it is no surprise. Bonds between people are tighter than institutions. Some negative comments from David's articles and I noticed comments had been closed. Will those same people have the same attitude about any possible gals who follow Coach Duffy to VT? Are they traitors to their university and not welcome to play at VT? The only constant thing in life is change. Let's look forward, not backwards. Just my two cents.

FSU leaves, but only lands in the Big 12. (which makes no sense since their payout in the 14 team conference playoff is less than the ACC's) Anyway, FSU goes to the Big 12, after a year the ACC and Big 12 merge to make a new Mega conference with an east and west division. FSU is stuck playing in the Big 12 western division. .Making the same amount of money the ACC's do, but having to play their conference game out west. Just sayin'

1) They can leave anytime they want, they just have to pay the fees 2) They signed the agreement, so they should be held accountable 3) What if like the portal, they leave, but don't get picked up by anyone? 4) If they can't get out freely, who would want them with FSU having to give their TV monies to the ACC? 5) I have seen stuff on the internet saying they could end up in the B12. Would would want to leave the ACC for the B12?

My understanding is they can't get enough votes to agree to vote on it, so it hasn't been voted down, it just hasn't had enough votes to get it on the table to vote on it.

Anybody but Boston College? And Dear God, please no Pitt!!!! UVA & Miami should be a given. I would like either NC State (the Virginia Tech of NC) or Clemson.

I propose we just make the ACC a better conference rather than jump to another conference. Yeah, I am old school, but not set in my ways to want to keep VT in the ACC for nostalgia's sake. While I consider VT a more oriented football school in the ACC, I do not consider VT a SEC type school. I am not a football at all cost type of Hokie. I do not want to be in the financial escalation war to be the best football team. When I think of VT I think of the school / campus, cowgill hall, and then the sports teams. I am a Hokie club member and I travel 3 1/2 hours each way to go to all the home football games. The grass ain't always greener on the opposite side of the fence. Just my two cents..... I obviously do not want to join the SEC.
