It's a bad practice. ADs should stop falling victim to it
Not a contract in the world that keeps another program from poaching your guy. The downside of contract extensions.... well- VT is living it.

That was a watershed moment for me personally
It was also around the same time as the disastrous BC game that I lost sleep over. I had just gotten married and realized that it wasn't worth it and that CFB probably wasn't going to do what was neccessary to get over the championship hump. So close though!

Congrats he has done well, but it's a bad deal for USC.
Yet another AD has been suckered into amending the terms of a contract. There's not a contract clause in the world that will prevent another school that really wants to buy your coach from doing so.

What some subtle ways to let employer know you are keeping job options open
I'm not that enthused about trying to leverage an actual job offer against employer as by that time, I'm invested in leaving and the risk that the employer will lose respect and eventually push you out anyways even if you get what you want is high. I am thinking about making some requests that drop hints so employer gets message that it's nut cutting time.

I'd say the MLS is about EFL League One mid quality...
The money suggests that the quality could be low EFL championship level. As long as the US system shuns relegation, I suspect improvements will be marginal from here on out

I do think we see some glimmers with players currently in Europe
I just think too many intrenched interests with a hand in USMNT and MLS continuely to seriously impede progress.

Mine is playing advanced rec at u12 level this fall..
And no joke, she may be getting tougher competition than then u11 travel team she is eligible for at our club. Several of her teammates are almost 2 years older then her. She not technically playing up as she turns 10 in late Nov but it's about the same effect.

USMNT setup is a joke... all the incentives are wrong
Way too much focus on MLS, which then misaligns player development from the way the rest of the world does it. Also, too many clubs focus on strict regimented practice regimes instead of just letting kids play pickup and small sided scrimmages to maximize realistic touches on the ball

Staff isn't securing the programs assets when the coaches and team aren't in the locker room? That dog just ain't gonna hunt for me. Regardless of ODUs failures, it's malpractice for whoever is in charge of operations for Tech, IMO!

It's embarrassing that a P5 program's security is so lax that we can't secure assets during a game. Whose responsible for op security? We have 4 or 5 people with operations in thier title.

Blows my mind that a major football program
Leaves its assigned facilities and assets unsecured. Dont tell me we don't employee enough staff. I'm embarrassed for whoever in the ADept is in charge of security.

Thats what makes them so dangerous, when they muster the will after being insulted/slighted, they can cause a lot of damage

How do you deal with stupid people at work?
I dont know how many different ways in plain english i can explain something in a kind way. If i respond in a way percieved as insulting, stupid people will feel thier dignity has been harmed in a way that they will feel entitled to complain about.
