Sling now offers a day pass for non members

$5.99 for 24 hours ** Edited by JerseyHokie84 at 9/6/2025, 6:23:36 PM

I think it's likely that an offer has been made

Marve was let go 30 days ago. When a new Head Coach comes in, he is usually hiring an entire staff. This is one position, albeit an extremely important one. Had our top choice accepted, I think we would have found out by now. That is just my 2 cents after being a part of coaching searches in my past. Hope we get someone great.

We may get someone who needs us more than we need them

it's much easier to attract high caliber coordinators when they know the HC is on a new contract and here to stay. ** Edited by JerseyHokie84 at 12/13/2024, 10:29:35 AM

the standard we have landed us in turmoil anyway

If we indeed have a personality problem, I don't necessarily think we need a HOF type coach to change that.

especially because he just got promoted

to # 2 in the Department. I just looked up FSU's # 2 administrator. She's worked at 7 different athletic departments before her last 10 years at FSU. Ballein has never worked anywhere else. Things like this is why VT Athletics will never get ahead.

It made the point that we have a habit of hiring unproven coordinators

It predates Pry. Hiring Justin Hamilton and paying him $600k to be a DC made no sense. Look where Brad Cornelson is now. Went from VT to FCS Sam Houston. And they already hate him: http://www.katfans.com/katsforum/showthread.php?24802-Poi... ** Edited by JerseyHokie84 at 9/25/2023, 12:59:35 PM

VT @ FSU will be 3:30pm on ABC or ESPN

Saturday, Oct. 7 Boston College at Army, Noon ET on CBS Sports Network – previously announced William & Mary at Virginia, Noon ET on ACC Network Marshall at NC State, 2 p.m. ET on The CW Network Wake Forest at Clemson, 3:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network Virginia Tech at Florida State, 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC or ESPN – network designation after the games of 9/30 Syracuse at North Carolina, 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC or ESPN – network designation after the games of 9/30 Notre Dame at Louisville, 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC Georgia Tech at Miami, 8 p.m. ET on ACC Network ** Edited by JerseyHokie84 at 9/25/2023, 11:23:41 AM ** Edited by JerseyHokie84 at 9/25/2023, 11:24:17 AM

if this keeps up, change needs to happen at a level above Pry

Hire a search firm and let a football AD evaluate Pry at the end of the season

that would make a great reality TV show

We are paying Fuente not to work... not sure why he needs us for anything more

problems run deep

John Ballein just got promoted to COO. Go find another #2 administrator at a Power 5 progam who's only experience at this level is the same athletic department since the 80s when I was born. You need to go out and hire the best, experienced administrators who bring their savvy here. ** Edited by JerseyHokie84 at 9/18/2023, 12:40:02 PM

Observations from today

I got back from Shi Stadium. My last time at a RU vs VT game was 2001 when we won 50-0. Rutgers has gotten a little better since then. We, on the other hand, are barely recognizable. Their stadium was pretty full and relatively loud. Fans stayed until late. That was not the case back then. Make no mistake, Rutgers is not a good football team. My Rutgers buddy next to me said they need this win before they get smacked around in the B10. Whit was on the sideline in front of me wearing a checkered maroon blazer for the second half. I didn't see him speak to anyone the entire time. I hope he feels as sick as I do.

Our plane left six hours late

from Pete Thamel: Worth noting on Virginia Tech after they played a nine-hour game against Purdue last week. They didn't get to the hotel in New Jersey until 10:30 p.m. last night after plane issues. Instead of leaving at 2 p.m., Tech left Roanoke at 8 p.m. Pete Thamel @PeteThamel Sources: Virginia Tech starting quarterback Grant Wells (leg) and starting wide receiver Jaylin Lane (hamstring) will both be gametime decisions at Rutgers on Saturday. Tech will be without top receiver Ali Jennings (ankle).

at some point, we have to stop using youth and inexperience as a crutch

Texas State brought in 50 new transfers and beat Baylor in Week 1. In their head coach's first game.

It is streamed on Fox Sports app

from Rutgers website: The game will broadcast on Big Ten Network. Viewers can find the channel through btn.com/gamefinder and through the New Jersey listing. The FOX Sports app will also stream the game. Big Ten Network (FOX Sports app) Play-By-Play: Joe Beninati Analyst: Adam Breneman Reporter: Taryn Hatcher

I just finished the ESPN article

That was also my immediate reaction. As someone who works in Athletics myself, I'm shocked that Babcock provided answers instead of saying 'no comment.' That being said, dysfunction like this spreads like a disease when you don't hire the right people.

tickets @ Rutgers

I haven't gone since the beatdown we gave them in 2001. Any recommendations on which section for tickets? It was empty back then but don't know if it's changed.

Pitt RB Israel

Watching the ACC Network now and see JMU ranked in top 25. Israel from Pitt said he had extra motivation Saturday because VT didn’t recruit him because he’s not good enough for this level. I just hope we get better in that department.

BC allowed Maine to give them a ball game

I think some top 5 FCS teams would beat us and it wouldn't be close
