Desiante's wrestling has steadily improved over the year.
He's been close to some nice wins recently. Hopefully ACC Championship's is where he can breakthrough. He's got a high attack rate and is getting to legs. Good signs in March.

Seidel is one of the more offensive 133s in the field.
Combine that with his ability on top and I like his chances for a run.

He is redshirting. Last week put him at the limit.
The Friday+Sunday duals can count as a single date once for redshirt accounting.

Sonny took all the shots until the end of the match.
Merrill just sat there holding position and trying to counter until he was down with a minute left.

The double stall on Ethen was garbage.
Not hitting Dee for sitting on a knee was also trash. It helped Church keep it to a decision but it's stupid to let a guy not wrestle for a few minutes. Sergio took all the shots in his match but didn't earn a stall. They were not particularly consistent.

The NCAA limit is 6 matches in a day.
You'll see guys hit it in some of these single day tournaments if they take a loss. Typically a couple guys hit it at the Keystone Classic at some of the deeper weights.

Sounds like there is a reasonable chance Forrest misses the dual on Sunday.
He might be going to an open tournament instead to get his match count up in preparation for the post season. Understandable but disappointing if the super match doesn't happen.

Just reading tea leaves but I think Burton is going in March.
Based on his interview with Evan Hughes and the fact that he seems to be getting the nod for NC State. I think you'd want to get Church as many opportunities as possible if he was going in the post season.

Miss me with that. Lots of excitement even if it's not a trophy team.
Under the radar years have a chance for some awesome storylines and Tech still has a legit title contender in Eddie V. Unproven guys like Gaj and Seidel (assuming Campbell is out) can make some noise at NCAAs. Sasso and Mullen have the potential to jump levels if the lights come on too. Then there are the veterans that have done it before. Can they get back to that level or be even better? I can't imagine waiting 7-8 months for the season to start then checking out right when the meat of the schedule hits.

This is my educated guess too since Burton didn't wrestle Pitt or App State
It gives the team a bit less juice this season but the youth movement will be in full effect next year.

I've had an issue in the past where they sent the email but I never got it.
The email went through a server in another country so the firewall blocked it before it ever hit my inbox. Not even in spam.

The UVA wrestler is an L7 weenie. Started stalling 2 minutes in.
Robinson didn't wrestle and Jack got upset so it made it very close.

No. Medical Hardship Waivers are for season ending injuries.
He would have to compete to use a year of eligibility and have a season ending injury. His injury that held him out at the beginning of the season wouldn't qualify on its own.

I think it was from the beginning of his recruitment when they thought 125
I think I heard this on the Basch podcast a while back but I could be wrong. Either way those jumps happen, just look at Sam Latona. Never stopped growing.

I'd be surprised if Seidel goes to 141
Just based on the fact that he was projected 125 and then grew out of it. That being said I do hope they get him some action regardless of weight class. I think he should be ready to go.

Verifiably False
Hokies Wrestling Social Media is widely known as one of the best in the business. Areas that could be improved? Absolutely. Not that great? Ignorant nonsense.

Right now Burton looks to clearly be the top guy at 165.
I'd love to learn the thought process around his redshirt decision. When you're going to redshirt Henson to line up things for next year I think everything is on the table. Biggest upside for wrestling Burton as a true freshman is getting him invaluable experience at NCAAs. I could see a crazy scenario where Ethen Miller takes a medical this year, Melvin Miller reclassifies, and Burton redshirts next season. That's kind of what Penn State is doing with PJ Duke to get the line up right

That was an interesting thing that I heard brought up on a podcast.
Might not have had the money to get Bo, Miller, and James. James decomitting freed up a bunch of cash.

I'm interested to see if they send Burton at 165
Would be a good opportunity to get him more quality matches while still preserving redshirt. I could also see them sending Mac while getting Burton action at Cliff Keen and Keystone Classic.

Purely a guess but I am not expecting Miller back until January.
No reason to rush him back before ACC duals if he's not 100%. My guess is they'll reevaluate come January and decide if he goes or seeks a medical waiver.

Right now I'd say it's a lot more likely than a freshman making a run.
The consistency needed is usually learned through experience. Just look at Hipolito last year. All the talent but when it came to NCAAs really struggled.
If Campbell and Burton (assuming they win the spots) can go out there and consistently show up during the season I would move them up the list.

Right now I'd give Crook a better chance than Burton or Campbell.
He's good enough to win a blood round match.

Eddie is eligible next year. He has already been granted a medical waiver.
I think it's very unlikely that Henson goes up in weight. He's planning to go 65 kg for the Olympic trials so bumping up would run counter to that. He's already sacrificed a shot at his second title in a super weak weight this year.

He definitely has a shot. Needs to be able to beat guys like Feldman.
Pitzer of Pitt was ranked #7 and already took a loss today and that is someone I expect Jimmy to beat every time this season.

I'm not ready to say Mullen is right there with Trumble
He's super athletic and certainly has the talent. Just needs to take the next step this season. If he does then he's in the discussion.

Coaches are very high on Seidel. I think RS is still pretty up in the air.
I am hopeful he gets a look at Cliff Keen. A glimpse against a bunch of quality opponents could tell us a lot. Really get the hype train going for the next season.

Demetrius Thomas was a Freshman NAIA champ that transferred to Pitt
Won ACCs in 2019 and 2020. Went 1-2 at NCAAs. He was pretty talented, had a chance to AA if NCAAs wasn't cancelled.

They might be projecting that guys currently on the team to fill the weight
Someone can try to see if Miller could get a medical from an earlier year.
Wrestling Board

That is a good suggestion.
The pitch count strategy seems to work well for veteran guys that benefit from a bit less wear and tear. There aren't many guys that can hang with Eddie when he's feeling good.
