To everyone that's donated to the program, what will convince you to DOUBLE

what you've donated going forward? That is the challenge AD White faces. Going to be pretty tough in this economy. Also, I doubt there are any untapped billionaires that VT hasn't reached out to before. I know a lot of upper middle class Hokies in NoVa and sad to say most of them hasn't followed VT football since they left campus.

I don't buy the resources excuse. They obviously don't have resources close

To P4 programs, or else they'd not lose every single coach for 3 decades to those "bigger" programs as soon as the coaches have some success.

What would be difference between making the tourney and losing 1st round

versus not making the tournament? Does making the tournament mean it was a successful season if the team doesn't advance at all?

Great article. Much better than someone saying "Watch Youtube" for insight

Some posters here are lazy with responses telling people to go google it or go watch youtube. What's the point of a discussion board then?

What was PSU's team like from those that followed their games?

I imagine our team is going to be similar to PSU teams previously given the coaching staff. I've only seen a handful of their games over the years. What kind of play should we expect? Is it similar to what VT has done in the past?

You're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Team is very young.

6 to 7 wins would be a successful season and bowl eligibility would be a successful season.

Wasn't there supposed to be a bunch of announcements after PSU bowl game?

I thought we were waiting for a bunch of new coaches and transfers that were on hold until after the bowl game. It seems the Matt Campbell hire took the wind out of the sails.

Doesn't matter if it's home or away as long as we win.

What good are home games if we get blown out in them? The answer is to win. Win on the road. Win at home. Get ranked. Get our games on primetime, not the CW network.

I agree. He's a good guy, but our D was bad the past few years.

Personnel aside, our guys were constantly out of position or taking poor angles.

There is a big gap between a total rebuild and just slapping on new paint

Some schools already have the talent and players and need a coach to capitalize on that. A school with a handful of 3 stars and up, versus a school where every player is at least a 3 star. You saying both are the same fixer upper?
