Posting History (15)

Yep

I posted about his skill set when he was playing on the Greek team… before his arrival to the States. A decent player, but far from any kind of spectacular player. Some folks challenged what I said… they obviously did not watch the games he played against very average European talent. He’s a good person and I’m sure he’ll turn things around next year!

Neo

A decent player, but certainly not the program “savior”that so many Hokies thought he would be. I watched those European championship games last year. I posted that, while he was a decent player, he was not going to be some ACC superstar. Chris C and others countered. Certainly not a lottery pick… everybody can see that. I think he needs another year of more physical American basketball play to shape his skill set. Perhaps in a years’s time he’ll be ready for the NBA – second rounder at best - but certainly not now! I do wish him and the rest of our team the very best. We just need to be realistic… I hope the team makes the NCAA tournament…but our inability to consistently shoot from the outside will likely keep us out. ** Edited by HokieInDenmark at 1/31/2026, 12:41:15 PM

Just miserable

He has absolutely no short game, and certainly does not have “the it factor”. If Pry rides KD for the duration, both of their ends will be solidified. I hate to be that pessimistic – but this is the reality that can’t be ignored.

Drones Is A Decent Backup

The problem is, he has absolutely no short game and seriously lacks the “it factor”. He may have been injured last year, but his troubles began before that for sure. You cannot put the game in his hands “to win it” in the end, you’ll just end up sorely disappointed!

Avdalas

I’ve watched two games. I just saw the game against France. He’s a decent player; plays hard and with passion. But, he’s far from The Savior that someone on this site might have him pegged for. Free-throw percentage is miserable. But, that poor statistic applies to the entire Greek team. I am hopeful that with good coaching he’ll up his game. It’s hard to believe that he was even remotely considered a second rounder. I just don’t see it…maybe in due time. At this point, he may be a slightly above average ACC player…he will not be a star next year. I hope I am wrong. ** Edited by HokieInDenmark at 7/20/2025, 6:55:09 PM

Mutts…Ugh

Why so many lazy passes? For all the good he does…this remains a major problem with his game! ** Edited by HokieInDenmark at 2/25/2023, 8:20:29 PM

Huh?

I haven’t seen one iota of offensive capability out of Kidd…outside of a few dunks and garbage follow-up buckets. Wessler will need some time to acclimate…but I would bet on him over putting much more stock into Kidd. I really hope that I am wrong. Gotta keep the faith that CMY can work some coaching magic!

Great Guy!

Really talented. If he got healthy…played next year…first round potential next year. Either way, good for him! Is Round 5 the “break even” point for him staying or going?

Barn, Mitchell, Tenuta

These guys had no business entering the draft. Could definitely have used another year. Mitchell is very talented…injury hurt his stock…needed to come back and prove himself. Barno, while speedy, does not have good nose for the football…Football IQ needed refinement. Not sure about Tenuta…guess he just needed seasoning to enhance consistency.

Kidd

Wish the “Kidd” all the best. But, IMHO he is not ACC caliber. Last year was pretty telling. Maybe CMY can work some magic…
