Posting History (421)

Can’t agree on that. I was here when VPI & post

And it was always Virginia Tech, concurrent w/ the more formal … as it is today.

After some intense🤔 thought …

I’ve decided that since they discontinued use long ago, plus, it was informally used, I am disqualifying MIT. Another cousin’s daughter just started mit this year on soccer team, but they get no points towards the issues. Plus he’s a Tar Heel which further DQ’s their family as qualified participants in this “Tech” competition.

Excellent info, my smart professor cousins alma mater…along with some

Other blue bloods…but, I digress… We are the P&O (Olin) of 1854. Why didn’t our BOV fix this by now.

And…we left some on the table..

Most schools reflect their founding dates all the way back to preceding organizations …of course, our Tech Did not take full advantage of what I think should have been an1854 founding date! Every little tidbit that we can toot our horns about helps… For sure, we must have been the very 1st “Olin”!!🤔😉🤣

Yes but…when did the others become Techs?

Good point. Years ago I worked with a still longtime friend who always claimed his alma mater GT was the real Tech 🤣 ** Edited by HOKIEGOBBLE at 11/9/2025, 12:10:30 PM

And yet predictions are that Hoosiers will remain 2 or near…

Despite nearly totally choking to a Coachless flailing team… The P2 takes care of their own regardless…

Speaking of “TECH”…who was the 1st?

Noticed that both Tx tech & ga tech trying to emphasize just the word “TECH” on uni’s or helmets…yet both of them are founded later than VT.

How many games will Whit promise JMU if we get their coach

Just like we magically started playing Wofford more after the young hire Bonus question-how many games did Indiana promise JMU after they pummeled JMU staff & players?

Hokie man’s hat has changed in your photo

A true sign that times are changing or California changes hats

Assuming you’re referring to Sexton…

I’m not sure we shouldn’t be trying to steer outside his sphere… he’s playing everyone & doing well for all except the buyers… on the front and back hand of all his deals… But even if we stay with his empire, we will only enjoy a short term ROI … likely

If Franklin was even made an offer; it’s time to reduce the package $# by

10% … 24 hrs for fully executed contract, prior to rescinding the offer in total.

You may be in big trouble.

Sicily is where the HQ is … They may be trying to protect you.

Bet that several key players around the fired coaches schools…

Will be locked down despite not yet knowing who they’ll play for. It’s about the money; most these days could give a rats behind beyond the right $ number.

Ellis - does someone @ VT w/ a brain &

Authority go ahead & lock him down?! Why lose the guy?

Do you know when the official end of the 30 days is they can transfer?

Disregard - it’s tomorrow! ** Edited by HOKIEGOBBLE at 10/14/2025, 7:36:13 PM

AP poll=media votes (w/ plenty backing teams from their P2 focus areas)

BUT…the reality is also that P2 perfected ‘buying’ their teams early & fruits of their efforts are reaching a crescendo (the rest of P4 are catching up on how to do that)

It’s an attempt to eat some chunks of that huge elephant objective

For a better Outcome than today. An attempt to move us forward. But with much, I’ve always believed in the bell shaped curve…in this case….of those that like it & those ambivalent &….. …. the others… And so it is with Hokie football…

For the longest time, many of us complained that VT is doing nothing…

To enhance our program & pretty much many agreed that dollars need to go way up…. So, VT has addressed the issue & what do we do…complain about them trying to fix the problem 🤔🤣🤣🤣 😎

The Lounge 10 mo ago

Sorry no, but going to USAF museum

In Dayton soon to show my Hokie wife the plane her dad flew in WW2… His was one of the bomber groups saved when Vesuvius blew (major losses by US bombers that didn’t get airborne)…

What’s nice about our Board is you get to say this

Whereas on the Sabre anything from a Hokie that may hurt someone feelings gets deleted fast! Why do you think the differing set of standards?

BOV was the problem

They decided money not needed nor marketing to fans for this vs other priorities

Perspective…🙄🤔

Virginia Tech lost to Alabama in 1973 with a final score of 77-6. The game was a dominant performance by the Crimson Tide, who gained an NCAA-record 833 yards of total offense and set records for rushing yards and yards per play. Details of the Game Score: Alabama 77, Virginia Tech 6 Significance: This game was one of the most lopsided in Alabama's football history. Offensive Records: The Crimson Tide set an NCAA record for total offense in a game with 833 yards. They also established NCAA records for rushing yards in a game (748) and average yards per play and rush in a game. Context: The game took place in the context of Alabama's 1973 national championship season, where they used their wishbone offense.

Buyouts must be well beyond $6M! $15M minimum.

Correction - that’s buyouts Plus other cash needed….I’ve been using the $6 million number, but frankly, I’m sure Whit has a buyout. IF IF IF the scenarios of cleaning house ever came true, consider that our program will be dead in water for at least 2 to 3 years (I know, some of you see it That way now 🤣) because of the fear that anybody still here or anybody considering us would have major trepidation due to the instability but in reality these days NIL & Coach $ trumps trepidation as these ‘deals’ are almost always life changing regardless of success or failure & !!!…Both of the coordinators for pry would be let go so the new head coach could bring his own. This is a $15 million expenditure, minimum. ** Edited by HOKIEGOBBLE at 9/9/2025, 9:02:31 AM

Impressive!

Very well done! I appoint you the person in charge of convincing the board of visitors of all of your above comments!

Always other ways!

And don’t ask me to list them!🙄🤣😎

Real sign of the times …ESPN often makes people think of Micky Mouse.

In fact, many more Disney characters also. They may hold the record. Agree?

Yea what a disaster with player losses…

It was no secret that a strategic decision was made that football gets the $’s….big mistake that goes all around, as that was not all on AD. BOV could have mattered.
