I've never heard of Yancy Fancy Cheese, but it's BOGO at Publix this week.
Infused with Pabst Blue Ribbon, you say? My, that IS fancy.

I just ate a piece of cornbread in a plate/bowl type dish, surrounded by
chili. I think I haven't had that goodness since I worked for the American Cafe in Tyson's Corner around 1986. Why this isn't standard issue bar food is a mystery to me. Awesome comfort food, easy and cheap to make...who wouldn't want that with a beer instead of, say, a quesadilla?
And I have noticed nachos are back, but whatever happened to potato skins? I don't know this country anymore.

Politics? Personal attacks? I have to admit to getting a chuckle out of
Will naming names, offenses, and punishments. Just lays it all out there so no one has any doubts. I'm trying to behave - even to the point of not even getting into any threads that could devolve. Even if you don't say anything wrong, just being in the thread is a demerit, ha. I wonder if this is a grand plan to get rid of enough posters that the message boards just die off, and Will can live in peace. #conspiracytheory

It's inside the house now. Worst...ever. Please send prayers. Or a strong wind.

In this episode of "Who knew?" we delved into the history of the legendary
M-80. The internet is awesome.

Pilot spells out USA 250th with flight path. I don't know if anything is
real anymore, but I'm going with it.
Maybe try this link:

And years later, Inara, who also pursued music, released this song about
her father. She presented it to her mother on her 70th birthday. Shew...a life of heartache...

đĩ"And we sing a song. On July the 4th"
Sad song, really, but fits the day. In June of 1979, Lowell George ended his life via overdose in Arlington, Va. Little Feat was hugely popular there, and the death left us "speechless in DC". Lowell George left behind a wife, 2 sons, and poor little 4 year old Inara, his daughter. 6 months later, family friend Jackson Browne wrote a tribute (as only he can do) that also gave advice for Inara. July 4th is her birthday.

Just checked mine. 87 degrees, 78% humidity, heat index 102, and I will
throw in Real Feel 107, Real Feel Shade 96, and dew point 79. It's a glorious day! Good news for me is, it probably won't get a whole lot hotter as the day goes on here.

Unfortunately, there are a handful of a certain type of personality that
gravitate to that line of work. I think there are testing safeguards in place, but some of these types make it through.

I seriously wonder if we are close to 80 inside. I run a dehumidifier,
which is EVERYTHING here. But 68? LOL, that's coat weather here. We are totally acclimated to heat.

Yea, I was wondering about that. I remember throwing a firecracker on my
way to elementary school (don't judge me) and the fuse went like lightning and it blew up in my hand. My finger was numb for 3 days, and the fingerprint on the tip of my index finger was scrambled permanently. Weird. Of course, I kept all that to myself. We always heard, "M-80s are actually a quarter stick of dynamite" from older kids. I never even saw one, but I was scared as hell of them.
I just grabbed a flashlight to check my finger again, ha, but I can't really tell now.

They should have eloped. How many friends do they really have?
As a former wedding event bartender, I wonder how much security screening the staff has to go through? It would be wild to work that, I must say. Interesting to see some celebs (though I doubt I would know 10% of them), but I'm all about the bread. Might be some insane tipping going on. Sign me up.

I'm ecstatic! I love the guy. No player could lay out the hits and score
goals like he can. He is a unicorn.

I remember when the nationwide 55mph thing came about during the
"energy crisis" or something. It came about when I was at VT, and those troopers were everywhere handing out tickets. You had to go 50 to be safe. We drove so slowly, I felt like getting out and walking.

And the next one, "I'm a song". I might be doing this a while. Time to
crack a beer, ha, the day is done.

I saw a comment about bowl games, and I was reminded of the dire situation
bowls are in. People have suggested moving them to the beginning of the season. Maybe that's a good idea, but part of the whole bowl enjoyment for a lot of people is getting out of the cold weather and heading to a nice warm city. So, moving the bowl games to late August is not the answer - unless you like Miami in August.
But what about Boston in August? Portland, Maine? I wonder if any of these places are thinking of making a power move on the flailing bowl system. We already have a couple of semi exciting season openers - they just aren't called bowl games. Putting together a full flight of bowl games in northern cities might work great. And players couldn't opt out, either, as it will be the first game of the season.

Oh, joy. I just found out Friday is a holiday, not Monday. I also learned
that my daughter's car will be in the shop, so I have to take my granddaughter to school, come home, take my daughter to car, come home, take a squirrel to the vet, come home, then likely pick my granddaughter up, and come home, and go to the bank somewhere in there. All of this as the holiday invasion is in full swing.
I'm going to need to get my little therapy notecard "stay calm" reminder in a prominent spot.

Getting as close to the coast as possible helps with the heat with the
seabreeze phenomenon. But that is no place to be in a hurricane. Go with the pool and a little higher ground =).
I'd want to be 25 feet up there, if you can get it.

It's tough. I would probably just buy it, even if they come up short. You
took a shot, but it's brutal when you have to go back to square one over and over.
We took a short trip to Charleston once in the fall. It had some fun bars down by the water for watching football. The town reminds me of St Augustine a bit. But I think you may have to buck up with that summer heat, ha.

I have the same plan. I only use the inside oven for frozen pizza now. But
I don't have a full outdoor kitchen like I want. Been trying to move for a long time. It's going to be the last one, so it has to be right, and there are a lot of considerations (for me) that have to be met here without much supply on the market. We keep lowering our expectations and compromising, and the clock of my life keeps ticking...

Day 2 of my smoke fest is underway. I got up in the dark to start the pork
butt so I can be done with it in a reasonable hour. I bought about 25 lbs of chicken thighs at .99/lb from Winn Dixie the Beef People. What am I supposed to do when they are giving it away? And everybody loves it, so...This is it, though. No more buying until everything in the freezer is gone!
I may be googling a 12 step program or something soon. The addiction is real.

I'm coming around to a variation the old "people don't want to know how
their sausage is made" adage. I'm just going to ignore all that stuff and happily consume it.
