i grew up about 15 minutes from campus. My dad was a full time employee of the college and worked part time for Athletics. My brother got his BS and MS from Tech. i was the dumb one in the family so only got my BS from Tech. After winning the NIT, Bobby Stevens came to my high school (Giles) to do his student teaching. in addition to being a very good basketball player, he also played a mean shortstop. would come out and work out with out baseball team. that was a big deal for those of us on the team. how many times do you get to play with someone that just won a title. those were the days when the NIT actually meant something.

I too have stopped giving large amounts. i give $250 every year to maintain

my Hokie Club status. i am actually a benefactor and have contributed 6 figures to athletics over the years. i stopped the giving for a couple of reasons. - the commitments made from the previous administration for my level of giving were not honored by the current. - i am also 70 years old with three children and five grandchildren ranging from 2 to 22. I see better places for my money these days. I am proud for what i was able to give but am more proud of my family. Add 2 & 2 together and see what you come up with.

Need to leave the inbounds duties to the guards/small forwards.

Let the players that are more in tune with passing the ball handle this. Also need to do a better job of running the baseline (when you can) to get better angles and passing lanes. Saw one play late in the game where the inbounder was going one direction and the player trying to get open going the opposite. The inbounder only needs to move when he sees someone breaking open to receive the pass. I will not even mention the lack of screening to break someone free. I would be just be beating a dead horse. Things just are not done like they were when i played in the 70's.

He seems to be stuck between running the offense and paying off the ball.

Trying to do both at the same time can get you off your game. I like Hammonds running the offense and Neo off the ball. Need to see him playing his game and letting it fly like i know he can.

The thing I am most proud of is

that whether they win, loose or draw Coach Brooks and his team does it with great passion and desire. They have made themselves and the university very proud. The future is bright at VT for women's basketball amongst other several other sports.
