I can be a harsh critic sometimes regarding our teams, players and coaches.
While we are all disappointed in the outcome, I think we just have to congratulate Forrest and say good job. As many have said, he's a generational talent. We are getting one like him with Bo. He's quick, elusive, smart and scrambling with him is like catching water in your hand. But don't overlook this....Aaron has a chance to finish 3rd in the country as a freshman and he's the most exciting wrestler we have. Did anyone predict this for him before the season started? No. His future is extremely bright and I think he'll be on the top of the podium before he's leaves Tech. I know we all are looking forward to the next several years and what the Team and our wrestlers might achieve. Go Hokies!

runner up. He could get anywhere from 3rd to 8th— actually 3rd to 6th

sense tells me that if you are in the semifinals, you should by default finish no higher than 4th.

The two guys that lost in the semis, and the two guys that made it all the way through the consis.

but is still alive. Like Colin Gaj is still alive at 149. He may get a chance to wrestle for 3rd if he wins his next match.

If he had to win the last one to guarantee too 8, wouldn't losing out get him 8th?

You're correct about Seidel, of course.
