This was really a classic upset where the favorite just didn't prepare for what the upsetting team could bring. Coaches hammer on this all the time, especially about let downs right after a draining win like we had vs NCSU. But all sports are hard and wrestling may well be the hardest of all. Players/wrestlers here the coach but they just can't get there. Happens all the time across lots of sports. I would guess that if one could really get Robie to talk truthfully he would say he could see this coming in practice. As for shot attempts, they are not worth any more than missed basketball shots or missed passes on 3rd down. Championships and big wins can be accomplished in wrestling by really good defense and being really good on top and bottom. It may be boring to some or most, but it can win.
