5 for 5 and Transfer Portal

Considering how quiet we have been in the Transfer Portal and the likelihood of the 5-for-5 eligibility rules coming into effect, I think it's more and more likely that Robie is looking to move Gaj and Noah up to get them into the lineup next year. Hard to even consider sitting Gaj after his All-American performance last year but 157 is a different animal and much deeper weight class. I went back and watched a few of Sergio's matches and I think he has the frame to successfully move up to 184 and have a better gas tank in the 3rd period vs. last year. Also, Campbell appears to be sticking around and invested in the program even after his injury so he will in be in contention for 2027-28. Bo mentioned in an interview on Flo this week that he sees himself as a permanent 141/65 kg ideal weight for his entire college career which was interesting. Seidel is most likely only going to be able to keep himself at 133 for one more year. Thoughts? 2026-2027 Projected Lineup 125 - Eddie V 133 - Seidel (one more year) 141 - Bo 149 - Hitman 157 - Gaj 165 - Noah 174 - Burton 184 - Sergio 197 - Sasso 285 - Big JIm 2027-2028 Projected Lineup 125 - Rozas/Coluccio 133 - Campbell/Garcia 141 - Seidel 149 - Bo 157 - Gaj/Noah/Melvin 165 - Gaj/Noah/Melvin 174 - Burton/Fortier/Carini 184 - Burton/Fortier/Carini 197 - Sasso/Rocha 285 - Big Jim/Rocha/Konopka ** Edited by Hokie2000x at 5/8/2026, 8:32:15 AM

My bet is what you have at 125 through 157 is a lock for this coming winter
HOKIE MAGIC 05/08/26 11:58 AM ET
I don't think 157 is a lock

Obviously could be wrong.

I think Noah and Gaj are both best at 149/157
Hikinghokie 05/08/26 06:36 PM ET
No way Seidel can go for more than one year

That's certainly the narrative

I think a Bo at 149 not cutting can probably win a title
