One of the concerns is influence. If someone gets

In trouble gambling they might be convinced to do stuff they would not have considered. You might start out betting on other teams, but if you owe a bookie money there is a lot of ways you can pay that back. Keeping gamblers and bookies away from college athletes prevents things from getting worse.
