Oh well, that's what happens when you open that door

it is nothing more than the typical "see, we have a zero tolerance policy" BS so they can claim everything is on the up and up, and keep the money flowing in. Sacrificing a couple kids to keep the cash flowing. If their gonna be so concerned about it, then they shouldn't allow betting on college sports AND the networks should not be allowed to accept advertising for sports books on college broadcasts. Best NIL deal ever: "I am not allowed to place bets because I'm a college athlete, but if I could, I'd use this sports book" followed by a big dramatic wink. I have a bigger issue with the NFL suspending players for gambling, since they take money directly from the casinos and the irony of the Cin Reds ballpark (ya know, the team Pete Rose played on) having a sports book in the park, but the topic here is college athletes getting suspended. ** Edited by Vienna_Hokie at 8/23/2023, 8:24:06 AM

It seems pretty reasonable to ban people involved in sports from betting.
