A WORD about how depth benefits a program.

The new 5 event rule allows quite a bit of "testing" before making the redshirt decision. DEPTH has a major benefit in that you can test multiple guys deep into the season to figure out who is healthy and read to compete successfully at NCAAT. EX: VT @141....with Crook, Mason, and Church all in the mix, we are half way through the season and ALL redshirts are still available. In fact, Crook can wrestle a few matches and I believe Church and Mason both have 2 events left. Conceivably, with 3 solid guys we could almost get to the ACCT without making an official choice. THAT is what depth does for a program.

They still all have a chance to get multiple matches at Midlands
donjfs3 12/19/23 08:56 PM ET
That is correct Crook can't wrestle attached and maintain a redshirt.
