may be an indication of Duffy’s talent eval ability. I also expect her to be a little more aggressive in the portal this off-season as we will be positioned to make a deeper run next year with our core.

I’m pretty sure she ran track in High School, and she’s one of our faster players. She has long arms and can jump. I don’t know that Duffy wants a traditional post, it would slow the team down. As far as the portal goes, assuming no transfers out, we’ll have 7 guards, 5 forwards, plus a Guard/Forward, for 13 out of 15 slots. And since the women are now paid, do we want to split the $$$ 15 ways, or 13? I think the women we have now support each other, represent Virginia Tech well, and work hard. I’d be pleased if they all stayed. We have an inexperienced team that continues to grow and improve. I’m confident they’ll be better next year as they gain more experience. I’m not convinced we need the portal.

same player as Trent but didn't progress as fast. Petersen is a nice kid who tries hard but doesn't have a position at this level. If I'm Duffy I'm hitting the portal *hard* for a strong, athletic, experienced post player to start at the 5 next year. Otherwise we're going to take a step back instead of a step forward.
