WBB staff?
Any news on who will be the assistants this year? Was hoping to hear as we need to be running at full capacity when the portal opens to contact players.

There are a couple candidates who we know VERY well
Maybe not this season but don’t be surprised if we see a Coach King or Kitley in our future

Be careful what you wish for. Great players may not be great coaches or
even assistants.

It would be great to have them this year, even in part time positions

A GA stint while rehabbing doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility and
I think Cayla could be a great assistant after hearing what Carliegh had to say about her

Don;t they graduate this spring w/ grad degree? If so, not students, no GA

Can’t they work toward another degree?

Of course, but why the heck do that?
GA pay is peanuts - barely keeps you from starving. It does not cover the cost of tuition, much less housing, food, healthcare etc. And since they are no longer players, the tuition is no longer free. *Maybe*, but I have no idea, there is $ in the budget for a low level staff position. I could possibly see Liz being interested if (a) she wanted to help out, (b) her healthcare is covered for rehab (probably would be since as an employee she could get benefits, and the state health benefits are very good), and (c) the salary was enough to live off of. But if those things are not true she would be better off taking a job in the corporate sector where I think she could be very well compensated. All that being said, I know NOTHING about the situation or professional desires/goals of these young women or the VT budget situation or anything about the athletic dept. I do know something about GA pay and working for a university since I have 4 graduate degrees - all done part time while working full time corporate jobs - and currently work for a Virginia university. ** Edited by j9hokie at 4/8/2024, 9:14:25 PM

I thought Liz wanted to go to med school?

Maybe. Maybe not
Some depends on rehab and playing possibilities. Hearing she’s cooled on med school

Was wondering that myself, also was her husband hired for
some position besides playing golf? Wonder if she will bring some of her former staff or can "afford" and is looking for more and/or new staff.
