Young team needs to be coached up.
No excuse for: so many 5-second calls on in-bound plays, and so many Stanford layups when no one stops the ball. ** Edited by BigDaddyHokie at 2/20/2025, 10:34:18 PM

You do realize we led the game until the final 30 seconds
Posts here are acting like we were horrible the entire game. A possible tournament team beat another possible tournament team in a close game. We just didn't execute late. ** Edited by HokieAl at 2/21/2025, 9:00:15 AM

We had turnovers on inbound plays
all night. We've had trouble defending layups all year. Both weaknesses contributed greatly in the last part of the game. Terry Holland at UVA never had trouble with inbound passes. He always had his players set up in the middle of the court, then take off in different directions over picks, then at least one player would run directly at the inbounds passer to receive the ball as the last-ditch option that always worked.

Defensive positioning seems out of whack , too much reaching with hands

Why can’t she see that Wenzel belongs on the wing, not as a PG?
Literally every person on this board can see it. I absolutely refuse to believe that we would not be better off as a team with Lani or Mackie at the point. Wenzel is a good outside shooter but too often is downright awful in terms of ball handling, distribution, and decision making. Often gets aggressive at just the wrong time. So frustrating to watch. Rose is still not back to her usual self, a lot of TO’s and missed bunnies again tonight. Too many times I wondered where Baker was. Ekh was the only one I saw scoring consistently.

Baker stays within the offense BUT it’s coach’s Job to recognize
Baker needs to be a focal point and we need to look to set her up to score…but we don’t
