She was invited to go. That is a big honor. Usually the coach is there too

I think the invites went to about 15 people who "some" (I do not know who) feel will most likely be chosen 1st or 2nd (maybe 3rd) round. Other than those people, other potential draftees do stay home to find out if they are selected. There are 3 rounds, so only 36 people get selected. Can you imagine that of all the gifted players in the country, only 15 are invited to attend and you are one of them? That must be incredible. Again, to be invited is a big honor and Liz was invited. My guess (total guess) is she will get selected, probably 2nd round. Usually the coach (I assume KB since he coached her all 5 yrs) is there. But, in this case who knows. I am almost positive her family will be there as that is the most supportive family I have ever seen. Who knows what Liz may have talked to Coach Duffy about. Maybe just what to expect. Maybe what happens if you are selected by have an injury and cannot play for a year. Dunno. But I think it is really nice she had a coach she could go to who had been through this herself and could provide perspective. Our players are lucky to have a coaching staff with such extensive pro experience. Typically after selection the 36 players who were selected go off to a training camp/try outs held by their prospective teams. Many (in fact, I think most) are cut and do not make roster. They can try to make a different team, or maybe try for a spot on an international team. Making the roster on a WNBA team is extremely tough to do. IN Liz's case, if she gets selected of course she cannot go to try outs. She has to wait till next year to see if she can make the roster, but I am really not sure how all that works. Injured players DO get selected - I know at least one got selected last year. I do not know if she will end up making roster this year or not. If you already knew all this, sorry for the rehash. If not, hope this was helpful.

Question: Will Coach D accompany Liz Kitley at the WNBA draft on Monday?
