Shae Anderson, who started 60 games for South Carolina, announced her commitment to UVA today. She was one of eight USC players that entered the transfer portal.
Anderson hit .228 for the Gamecocks with 6 homeruns and a .351 on-base percentage.
She had a fielding pct. of .923 (16 errors in 207 chances).
Since Jade Hylton graduated, the Hoos needed a shortstop.

But they already have a good SS in Maddie Greene (Loudoun Valley HS). Maddie played RF last year for them, but I’m sure she can compete for the position.

I know she was a Top 40 recruit, but this season Greene went 13 for 61 with and had more strikeouts (14) than base hits.
Of course, she could work hard during the summer and jump to the next level so there's always the chance.
The fact that UVA signed Anderson would seem to indicate that Coach Jo wants some competition and now she has it.
Should be interesting.

On the surface this "get" doesn't look like a big deal but we'll see what happens next season.
