Prior to the respective conference tournaments VT had played . . .
. . . 4 teams whose season was still alive at 8 AM this morning. LSU had played 12. Yes, LSU's conference schedule mattered but 6 of those 12 (Nebraska, Okie State, Duke, UCF, UCLA and Arizona) were OOC. They lost 7 of the nine games played against those 6 OOC opponents. I suspect they learned a great deal from those losses.

Everyone missed USC Upstate the powerhouse who Bama had to beat in the
“Toughest regional an overall 1 seed could get” that quote was the dumbest thing I’d ever seen during the week leading up to regionals. Bama had no P4 team and 3 of the weakest offensive teams in the tourney We run ruled USC upstate twice ** Edited by hokiepro at 5/18/2026, 6:45:16 AM

Being the #1 seed has benefits. Especially in a world where 50% of the . .
. . . best teams in nation are in your conference.

We didn’t play fsu in regular season.
The original comment was that VT played 4 teams alive on Sunday prior to conf tournament play. In any case VT played about twice as many as originally claimed.

Yep, corrected. Today VT 5 games, LSU 17 games versus Super survivors . .
. . . in regular season schedule. ** Edited by MidloHokie at 5/18/2026, 8:43:20 AM

Playing SEC teams alone
If Kentucky wins one game in the league, that's all I need to know.
