Trinity Martin had a 2 run HR sparking Grand Canyon’s huge comeback
She later scored tying run too I believe She’s one I wish we could’ve still had here as a lefty bat, power PH & outfield sub But she’s an everyday player there only .281 BA but 16 HRs ** Edited by hokiepro at 5/12/2026, 8:43:50 AM

She got off to a slow start, but really improved in conference play.

Yeah, wish we could have kept her and Legette.

So would you trade Foster for them? Lose a transfer, pick up a transfer.
Roster management is a zero sum game. I think we came out ahead. Foster has proven to be better than Martin. Legette had a great season hitting, but she probably wouldn’t have had that here because she wouldn’t have played. Don’t think she could play a position other than 1B, so she’d have to beat out Michelle or Kylie, who had proven themselves in games. Foster doesn’t have Legette’s HR total this year but is phenomenal at getting on base, and a phenomenal outfielder. Bre Warren didn’t work out, but you win some you lose some.

Right, Foster better than Martin and we have her another year.
I also don't believe Martin would have replicated those stats against our schedule. LeGette could have played RF. And once they saw her offense, she could have also played DP and been a step up. And that's not a knock on Kylie who is also a really good hitter. As you said the key was that LeGette didn't show her potential in her part time play. In hindsight, we would have better off with LeGette in the lineup full time. But, we didn't know.

This very true.. it’s greedy as a fan to want a bat like theirs as an
Option In reality our lineup and defense overall got better even though she’s still a very good player. She also got to show she could be a valuable every day player elsewhere. Think Foster and Martin both made the right moves for themselves, Legette too.

Just one would’ve helped but understandable
They became everyday players and team leaders in HR

But, they also affirm Pete's program philosophy and development skills
Consider them missionaries for the cause.

The GCU coach interviewed on In the Circle podcast mentioned Pete by name
And credited him for “developing” her as a hitter
