Forget exit velocity. This game has always been about pitching.
Three P4 championships decided today (SEC to go). Losing teams (UCLA, Texas Tech, Va Tech) have scored a total of 3 runs. We're in some pretty good company there, I guess. Add to that the American championship where ECU tallied one run off versus USF. Limit walks and keep the ball down (therefore in the park) and you win.

We could NOT figure out Francis’s change up
A good change up is our kryptonite BUT that’s true for many teams too…she was ACC pitcher of the year for a reason
I firmly believe it we’d played them in regular season and saw her again we’d hit her much better

our philosophy is to bomb the ball, hard to do with a good change up.
Pete said he wanted them to anticipate the change and go after it. But they just couldn't stay back enough.

To your point it must have been the drop and the overall mix of pitches .. we can hammer a pitcher like Eden Bigham but not her.. still a bit pissed that we may have left this one in the field
