Putting 2 + 2 together from the board, it sounds like our chance to host...
a regional was maybe 50/50, even before the GT series? Even with all the new metrics, plus RPI (which seemed to get a lot of air time on the broadcast), we were still sitting around 14-16, but could easily be "out" for a regional as well. All before GT series.
Am I reading the tea leaves correctly?

The two most reliable Bracketology predictions had VT as a host.
However, the one issue that hasn’t been mentioned recently is whether Blacksburg truly has the 100+ hotel rooms needed to submit a bid to host. I am just not confident that they do. Of course it won’t really matter if the team doesn’t run the table.

Now, there's a significant spend. But they'll go cheap for regional games by using police tape and/or temporary modular fencing.

. . . probability of hosting the regional. The objective reality is it appears the VT athletics has done it's due diligence (the bleachers are tangible evidence). The issue is, unfortunately, the team's performance.
