Cool story from game 2 in the stands in front of Addyson Foster’s family
They’re very passionately cheering on the Hokies and when Addy popped up a couple time they were bemoaning how she looked frustrated and she “pops up to left” quite a bit when struggling. Well when we had it to 6-1 and were at the bottom of the order I turned and said…”we’re going to get a couple baserunners on and Addy will walk it off for us with the run rule.” Well sure enough the bases were loaded and Addy drove one to the wall. Only the stop sign at 3rd (correctly applied) kept me from being prophetic. We all went nuts once she hit that to the wall, high fives all around and that was the big blow that pretty much clinched game 2 Friday making it 8-1. So much fun!
And by the way…I sure wish I hit .400+ when I struggled in baseball 😝

Although I did hit .405 one American Legion season. Started season 5-5 (including a hit off former Hokie Matt Reynolds) then sprained my ankle turned it onthe corner of 1st base when my spikes caught a rut in front of the base, toe went into base, rest of my leg kept going…ouch
What I was saying is that if Addyson is struggling and she’s still over .400, she’s one heck of a hitter…which yes…she definitely is!!

Had the grandparents and parents there. Really nice folks. They came to the tailgate on Saturday too and will be at the Radford game tomorrow.
