There's an interesting slide on the BOV presentation on 8/18
Whit has his own 40 slide presentation to the Board Of Visitors, but this particular slide is from the 2026-2032 Capital Outlay Plan that covers the entire university. I have no idea what "Softball Park Improvements" means but hopefully it's a good thing. ** Edited by VTChip at 8/9/2025, 2:57:08 PM

Not the first time
Softball improvements have been on the list before, with no progress made. This submitted places softball too low on the list for me to get excited about it. One of these days we’ll find that 6 (or 7) digit donor. Until then, don’t expect significant facility changes.

My knee-jerk reaction is that softball and soccer should be co-number 4s on
that list. Maybe the golf and tennis facilities are egregious.

Golf could use some improvements.
Tennis needs a lot of improvements. They had an excellent opportunity to significantly improve the tennis facilities before the pandemic but poor administration/fundraising effort and planning killed that.

Hopefully new Hokie Stone Press Box facing, more seating, including….
Infrastructure to add secure gates and mechanisms to provide a ticketing solution.

There are a couple plans that make secure gates and mechanisms unnecessary
to solving any problem with ticketing.

That's for the $100,000 fence required to sell tickets.
Have a feeling some ADs are like politicians. The more money they spend, the more professional they think they are.
