Can't bring myself to watch replay of the Clemson game, but I listened....
...you could clearly hear the rain hitting around announcers when 6th inning kicked in. That wasn't the case before then. I went to a meeting thinking we were a lock since they would either call it or delay it, but later find that we lost after a series of walks and hit players. Weather wasn't great the whole game, but it was audibly coming down after 6th inning. Is it possible it let back up? I get that they wanted to get that game in and not play 2 on Sat, but a rain delay certainly seemed warranted. I'm guessing they were afraid they'd never get back if they stopped it, but no one should have expected those gals to play in those conditions. I've even seen coverage of the Clemson runner shivering on base. Just so unfortunate that we'll never know how this would have turned out without forcing play during downpours, but maybe NCAA should push their selection show to Monday so these tournaments don't have to play in crazy weather.

We win. That's not up for debate as nobody is going to score 7 runs on us in normal conditions in a single inning or two. I don't think it happened all year - and they only managed to score 8 runs considering this was the SEQUENCE.

Granted, I don't have as much objection to the game being played as others, as VT should still have been able to get a few outs and avoid free passes, as the lead was significant.
