flash flood from this tiny little creek that runs by the parking lot. An area of the parking lot had waist deep water and the gift shop was ankle deep.

I've been there when it's flooded before.

The new Six Flags company is probably going to buy Dollywood.
They have a lot of scale now and Dollywood is one of the “biggest small” parks not already owned by the combined Six Flags/Cedar Fair entity or SeaWorld (which has renamed itself United Parks and Resorts).

Just my guess. The big boy companies always need a growth story for Wall St
Dollywood is a logical target for them. I have no idea who owns it.

Dollywood is owned half and half by Dolly and the Herschend Corporation. Herschend owns a number of other theme parks such as Silver Dollar City and Wild Adventures, several aquariums and a bunch of dinner shows (Pirates, Dolly Stampede).
Dolly is a fairly active participant in the long term planning of Dollywood - she is even called its "Dreamer in Chief." Her DNA is all over the place and although rumors will periodically arise that she is going to sell her share, it doesn't appear that wil ever happen.
