You don't have to be old or from older generation to be respectful towards

other people. The young kids in our families say ma'am, sir, thank you, please, etc. If they act rude or disrespectful, it wouldn't be tolerated, they will be corrected and/or disciplined. Same as how our grandparents and parents taught us. I don't cuss now coz my parents and grandparents never did and wouldn't allow it.
