Softball America ranks the Alabama Regional as the 2nd toughest regional

It's second only to the LSU Regional which has Nebraska (Jordy Bahl), Big East Champ UConn, and Southeastern Louisiana, which is probably underseeded as a 4 seed. Their comments on the Tuscaloosa Regional: "The Tide certainly got a regional to match the 15 seed. Alabama and Virginia Tech split their matchups early in the season. However, Cori McMillan and her nation-leading 30 home runs shouldn’t be on anyone’s wishlist. Neither is Maya Johnson, the Belmont ace, who leads the country with 343 strikeouts. Alabama has played better in the second half of the season, but still has a couple of strong teams."

Well...one big reason it's considered tough is because we're in it.**

The regions with the say 13 to 16 seeds are going to be tougher .....
hokietony 05/12/25 12:26 PM ET
Actually, they consider the three easiest regionals to be #1, #15, and #11
VTChip 05/12/25 12:52 PM ET
True. Belmont being so tough due to their pitcher
hokiepro 05/12/25 11:35 AM ET
Oops! I erred. Would play Jackson State in alternative victory bracket.
