The story is how did GT’s pitchers shut us down after being raked at VT?

GT starter Voyels appeared in all three games in that series and she lost the second game as a starter largely due to 5 walks due to control problems. But in her two relief appearances she was more effective than any of the other GT pitchers who pitched. Her game is offspeed breaking ball and today had enough control to throw more edge strikes in heavy air. And then came the freshman reliever we did not see in the series. So, from the April box scores, Voyels was prolly the best starter option. Tonight she started, gave 5 walks over 3-4 innnings but only 1? hit. So my guess is the Lady Hokies came to swing away again but did not show patience and control the strike zone, and did not choose to shorten up their swing to get on base. I did not see how Cuse cooled our bats more recently, was that on offspeed also? Could it be that exposed or got us off track? ** Edited by HokieJay at 5/10/2024, 2:16:55 AM
