I haven’t heard anyone NOT celebrating or trying to verify the results.

It’s just curiosity. The attribute that drives innovation and scientific discovery. There is nothing wrong with the way they do it. It just seems odd that they would need a full season to give one performance award but not another. So, if Jordan Lynch had transferred after her freshman year, would they still give her the award this year? If Bree transfers she will already have hers. I am pretty sure they have thought this through and have a good reason. People are just wondering what the thought was. Goodness knows we have discussed more trivial things on here. If Chip tires of addressing questions or doesn’t know the specific rationale, he can always ignore them.
