I wouldn't read too much into her losses. Given that the #1 can pitch
multiple games in a row in softball, I was looking at IP as an indicator who TX Tech might consider its #1 pitcher to be this year. Mainly because I have only been able to watch 3 of their games this year and I didn't want that to influence my opinion in case I happened to catch games on an "off day" where the #2 or even #3 started the game. At least I assumed that whomever VT faced in the Super Regionals could end up using its #1 pitcher for all 3 games. Particularly if those games end up being pitcher's duels (i.e. 1-0 or 2-1) where runs and hits may be limited in the series.
Likewise, I was looking at the 4 teams hokiepro suggested and trying make an educated guess on which opponent could give VT the best chance to end up in a non-pitcher's duel series in the Super Regionals too. At least I thought VT's odds were better to move on if the series wasn't a pitcher's duel. Hence why I thought TX Tech may be more like Tenn. than OU or Texas if the #2 sees action in the series. OU's and Texas' #2 don't really have any drop off from their #1s, so their situation is 1A and 1a. I don't think TX Tech and Tenn. can make that claim even if statistically there isn't much of a difference between them.
