Softball America has their first Bracketology of the season
Way too early, but it gives fans something to talk about.
They have VT as a 14 seed
Blacksburg Regional
(14) Virginia Tech (ACC)
LSU (SEC)
Marshall* (Sun Belt)
Robert Morris* (Horizon League)
They have FSU as a #10 seed and Clemson as a #15 seed.

IN 2007,Virginia Tech was ranked #15,but could not host because of seating capacity. Seating was upgraded for 2008 season.
VT was sent to the Columbus regional, hosted by Ohio State.
Cal State Fullerton won the regional.

Al Brauns got ejected from the game after he vehemently protested a hit ball call along the first base line.

. . . often greater on the host team. Expectations!!!! If you can get to game 3 that pressure can skyrocket.

Their current RPI is #19, but both SB America and D1 Softball have them as a host.
For D1 Softball, they are the # 16 seed.
The Tigers get a big opportunity this weekend when they host FSU.

chance to pull the upset. Then again, I know TX Tech has really invested a lot of money in its softball program lately.

be 1 - Tenn, 2 - TX Tech, and then OU and Texas coming in at 10 (TIC).

their way. More so than with TX Tech and Tenn.

To teams like Tenn, Fla, Ala, Nebraska, and UCLA. That is why getting a 13 seed or better enhances chances to get to WCWS. IMHO.

slight drop off with their #2 pitcher in terms of consistency. At least I assume the Super Regionals will likely be a pitchers duel and that both teams may have to use both starters if the series goes to a deciding Game 3. In terms of match-ups to the opponent's #2 pitcher and VT potentially stealing a run (notice I didn't say hit) here and there, TX Tech may be more like the group you mention than OU and Texas in that regard.

Actually isn't their dominant pitcher. She's lost 2. They have an undefeated pitcher.

multiple games in a row in softball, I was looking at IP as an indicator who TX Tech might consider its #1 pitcher to be this year. Mainly because I have only been able to watch 3 of their games this year and I didn't want that to influence my opinion in case I happened to catch games on an "off day" where the #2 or even #3 started the game. At least I assumed that whomever VT faced in the Super Regionals could end up using its #1 pitcher for all 3 games. Particularly if those games end up being pitcher's duels (i.e. 1-0 or 2-1) where runs and hits may be limited in the series.
Likewise, I was looking at the 4 teams hokiepro suggested and trying make an educated guess on which opponent could give VT the best chance to end up in a non-pitcher's duel series in the Super Regionals too. At least I thought VT's odds were better to move on if the series wasn't a pitcher's duel. Hence why I thought TX Tech may be more like Tenn. than OU or Texas if the #2 sees action in the series. OU's and Texas' #2 don't really have any drop off from their #1s, so their situation is 1A and 1a. I don't think TX Tech and Tenn. can make that claim even if statistically there isn't much of a difference between them.

Canady lost 7 games last year and started 39 games but other pitchers started 29 games.

Plus, they got some portal players that are great upgrades to their hitting from last year and last year they got to the final.

Statistically, it looks like TX Tech relies on 3 pitchers; Nijaree Canady, Kaitlyn Terry, and Samantha Lincoln. Canady is 12-2, 1.35 ERA, 78.0 IP, 37 H, and 21 R. While Terry is 12-0, 1.79 ERA, 62.2 IP, 43 H, and 19 R. Finally Lincoln is 6-0, 1.25 ERA, 39.1 IP, 25, and 9 R. It appears Terry is also listed as a UT on the roster, so I assume she is their #2 pitcher. If VT is going to steal a run (or two) off TX Tech, then they probably have a better chance of doing it against Terry than Canady. Although Canady has given up more runs on fewer hits and more innings pitched. Maybe she is the weaker of the two pitchers.
