Ok…so it’s still a shame we had her here and whatever the reason it didn’t

Work. If our team chemistry overall is better, that’s great…it could still be a “shame” that the talented player who left didn’t mesh but we lost that talent I’m not blaming any of our coaches…yes it’s a shame we don’t have a 2nd pitcher with that type of year happening. So maybe it’s better said…It’s a shame she didn’t mesh well with the team chemistry and a “talent LIKE Grein” could make this team elite…but I’ll still say I love this team’s make-up. Hoping that translates to a different stretch run than last year’s stretch if the element who “destroyed the team’s confidence down the stretch” is gone. I hope Pitt wasn’t a red flag for confidence but just a blip I’m not trying to be negative. I’m really not…I’m glad to know the information you shared. I’m glad we have a more cohesive team. Now they need to prove that it’s worth something down the stretch compared to how last year turned out. They need to draw from these positives…they trailed vs Stanford in each game (I believe it was) and won. They trailed in both Pitt games, rallied to tie or lead but just didn’t finish (that’s hard as a road team when home team can really pressure you by taking lead b6 or walking it off in 7th or later) Their response in game 2 after game 1 disappointment was epic. Now they need to use those “SEAL” tips and bring all of that mental toughness to Cali with them. Hope they do…I believe they will. I’m sorry you don’t like my takes but the harsh truth was we were in great position and in about a 26 hr span we lost it. Now it’s our job to recover it. We’re all wanting the same thing…I want them to win…I don’t like rehashing what “could’ve been” They’re 37-7…that’s awfully good. Here’s hoping we see win #40 before this time next week 😎 ** Edited by hokiepro at 4/21/2025, 9:57:58 AM ** Edited by hokiepro at 4/21/2025, 10:20:24 AM

Oregon will jump us and be a host. There’s one more slot gone

Ah Mr. Positive! Well good news is we have more games to play.**
UTPr0sim 04/21/25 11:17 AM ET
Yeah the positive is that we still control things and that others also lost

Softball America disagrees with you - their SOS is terrible

I didn’t say they took OUR spot

I think your point about Oregon's geographic location...
Old Line Hokie 04/21/25 09:20 AM ET
I agree with your assessment of what we need to do to make it. And if UCLA
nkhooch 04/21/25 02:46 AM ET
They will be above VT in RPI but their SOS will keep them from hosting
VTChip 04/21/25 01:00 AM ET
Your trust of the committee is much greater than mine. :-)**
Atlee Hokie 04/21/25 05:11 AM ET
Interesting Chip. The RPI already contains a strong SOS component as
nkhooch 04/21/25 01:23 AM ET
History will say that the committee will consider SOS strongly

Ironically missed one of the greatest moments in Lane

You could be right. The RPI Live has them at 16 and us at 15. But, it's

It’s a shame. This is likely a top 5 team with Grein **

Since you know everything

I hope this isn't true. One player's attitude impacted the other 20+ . . .

Interesting. Didn't know about the Navy Seal program. And I do understand

Last year's overall team ERA was 2.99 this year 2.44 but a long way to go

The bottom line with Grein, she just wanted to be the ace and not ace B.
PokieHokie 04/21/25 11:58 AM ET
Great points. I agree. Grein wanted to be the ace. And that was part of
nkhooch 04/21/25 03:54 PM ET
So true, many good pitchers have left our program to be the top dog!

Never mentioned anyone by name as the 'element' but keep digging your hole.**
Techdady 04/21/25 10:16 AM ET
So that element is or is not gone?
