Our hitters are taught to have a slight upper cut when swinging in

order to get the ball in the air. It is intentional and by design. Coach Pete coaches that into his players in order to hit it out. The problem comes when the conditions are not suitable for that type of swing. When you need to advance a runner by either hitting behind or sacrifice bunting. We typically struggle with those type of offenses as well because we probably don't practice against it much. Just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, home runs are great and you can win a lot of games against inferior competition with them, but when you play the big boys you better be able to manufacture a run or two when needed. We have seen it throughout coach Pete's tenure. I do like Pete. We got lucky today. ** Edited by Italian Stallion at 3/2/2025, 10:26:13 PM
