In those years the Braves had an offense that feasted on bad pitching. And
they were hampered by the Bobby Cox mantra of having slow, poor-hitting white guys in the #2 spot to "advance the runner." That last theory has been since *proven* to be a loser by advanced analytics. I knew it at the time. Very frustrating.
The 2026 VT softball team has neither of those problems. We hit for average, we have a very high OBP and we do more than hit home runs. We have very good pitching and fielding as well. And we are not hampered by a coach with old-fashioned ideas that lose games.
