That actually makes me a tad nervous about tonight

In multiple games in the past, we have struggled against ‘non-elite’ pitching (including when that middle of the road stats-wise hoos pitcher completely shut us down at home a few seasons ago) I don’t have a skilled enough softball eye to know why our team struggles to hit average pitching at times. But back in my baseball days, we saw multiple examples of ‘elite’ teams unexpectedly losing to underdog teams with average pitching …. because in practice they focused near entirely on hitting top velocity (and after the fact they admitted to struggling to adjust to lower / normal velo) Hopefully we’ll get off to a great start tonight and plate a couple runs early to give Mazz a good cushion. Go Hokies.

We should be OK if our pitchers don’t walk many.**
