Had a coworker who coached 2 WBB teams & was commissioner in another league
Played a team who batted one player out of turn every time. He never pointed it out until the 3rd time. I asked why, being an ump and rule conscious. He said they were winning and he "didn't need it." When he needed it, he appealed it. Since then, I've never seen rules the same.
So, I guess an umpire doesn't really monitor the batting order but has it in case of an appeal?
Think of Coach Hardin's situation. She "needed it."
