let's keep playing to allow the non-starters an inning or two. There's no downside IMO - let's play a full seven!
One thing I really like about softball - some rules allow more players to get involved in a game. Your idea is a good continuation of that concept.
And fans in the stands can break out the beer for those extra innings!
