IMO there's a big difference between Hokies and 'Hoos.

Hokies will cheer before their team does something exciting and to get the team psyched to do something exciting. 'Hoos only cheer when their team does something exciting. They call it class and decorum. Hokies call it a fricken ball game - let's raise some H E Double Hockey Sticks. @VTChip did you see how I got that hockey thing in there? Go Dawgs!
