The teams that did drop in RPI, including all games against those teams,

dropped an average of 55.9 in RPI/SOS. All games on that schedule, good and bad, average a drop of 39.6 in RPI/SOS. Even a drop of 39.6 is way too much. Nobody would have expected that. So the "good" games weren't enough to take care of the "bad" games. But we didn't know they would turn out bad at the time.
