Agree. LSU pitched three different pitchers in three games and all were
effective. Monticelli shut us down tòday on 5 hits in a very efficient outing. Numbers 3 - 8 in our order collectively went 1 for 21. Stat line for Monticelli:
Batters faced: 26
Runs 2 (1 earned)
Ks - 2
BBs - 0
Pitches - 96 (62 for strikes, 64%)
Fly ball outs-15
Ground ball outs-4
On the flip side, LSU had 12 hits, 6 ER, and 40 batters went to the plate. VT pitchers only gave up 3 BBs, with 2 Ks, but 146 total pitches. Of those 146 pitches 81 went for strikes.
Proud of this team though. Just waan't their weekend. Looking forward to the future though. Go Hokies.
