1. Don't want to expend energy 2. Different pitcher 3. And most importantly
It is not the end of the world if the team doesn't play perfect in every circumstance ever! It is even not the end of the world if they don't win! We're all rooting for them to win and would be thrilled, but it is a game. Not worth badmouthing the team and incessantly complaining.
