I did a little loose research after reading your post and it

seems to validate what you are saying. Of course hitters are at the bottom of the line up for a reason. I went back 10 games to the beginning of the GT series. Spots 5-9 in the line up has had approx. 140 official at bats, with 30 hits, 24 walks, 25 strike outs, 22 runs batted in, and scoring 20 runs. The BA is really close to the Mendoza line. To be competitive late in the year you cannot have that. The spots 5-9 did have some different players there, including ***an and Peck at the 5 hole. I have long thought that coach plays with the batting order a little too much and I think he struggles with whom to use at DP. Just my opinion though.

2. Need a slapper in the middle to bottom part of the lineup.
HolidayInnHokie 05/10/24 11:26 AM ET
If you have only 1 slapper, they need to be either 1 or 9. Runners on base

Just an observation: How does an entire batting order whiff on hitting?
